Acne Myths Need Debunking

When it comes to medical conditions that boast a whole lot of misinformation, acne is up there with the common cold. The myths that surround acne are so prevalent it can be hard for some to tell the difference between fact and fiction.

With everything from chocolate to greasy foods being vilified as the cause for breakouts, it’s important for anyone dealing with the condition to learn to weed out the fallacy and understand the truths behind acne. This is especially so if acne sufferers want to live a fairly normal life.

While trying to decide if it was okay to treat myself to one little piece of chocolate, I came across an article on Acne Gurus.com about the myths that surround acne. The truth is acne problems can be complicated by the myths. It’s bad enough dealing with acne, let alone thinking everything that’s fun to eat or do can make it worse.

The article on acne problems lists a number of myths and spells out the fact that acne can actually have a whole lot of different causes. Everything from faulty hair ducts and hormones to medicine reactions are actually the cause. Chocolate and greasy foods, while not part of a healthy diet, aren’t generally the cause.

Fighting acne isn’t a fun proposition, but it’s a whole lot easier when the truth is understood. It turns out it’s okay to indulge in a little chocolate and a greasy foods now and then. That article sure made me a happy camper!
